I’m 28.
Oh yeah. In the couple of days. But, no, not yet. I still have some more days. Do I hear the song, Happy Birthday? Well, from some people very close to me, yes I do. For onlookers, not yet.
Types of people
But it isn’t a big deal. I’m thankful though. In the past [slider title=”27 years”] I was born on May 12, 1982 to Victorino Luna and Carmelita Abria (both are extremely wonderful and responsible parent) in Gumaca, Quezon and grew up in the province until I finished my secondary education in Gumaca National High School,[/slider] I’ve seen people coming to my life and turning their backs after some time. I’ve seen people telling me good things about me and telling some lies about me. I’ve seen people just trying to make a space at the expense of my own. Yes, just like many others.
And my birthday treat for you? I didn’t have to think twice. I decided to give you a complimentary download of my latest book The Obvious: There’s No Secret to Success. Go here and get it now. Share this also with your friends, family, and associates.
Life isn’t difficult at all. I’ve seen people who are cool and confident and free from many worries. These are the people who happen to sleep well at night because of their integrity and honesty. They seem to have lesser stress as against some who make some fortune out of “negative” activities.
In my life, I’ve seen different faces and types of people from many walks of life. I’ve lived with them, I’ve spoken to them, I’ve shared laughs and stories with them. These are real people that make up a real society even though the society might not have a clear direction about where it would like to go.
But I’ve been with people, most of them are in dire need of motivation and a sort of model.
It’s very tempting to say that in some ways, I’m able to help them—at least during my seminar or after I’m able to write and publish my books. Perhaps, at some point in my seminar or television appearance or radio guesting, I’m able to contribute to their development as a person.
However, I think I just did that—though not yet as big as I’d like it to be.
What happened last year…
Last year’s celebration is about “Footsteps.”
I thought that we can walk to somewhere and it’s fun to walk and leave a mark. But of course, by default, we leave a mark. So I said maybe it’s cool to revisit how good my footsteps were.
We had an outreach program in Nayon ng Kabataan where I gave a motivational speech for homeless children.
There with me was [slider title=”Efren Penaflorida”]In March 2009, Peñaflorida was featured as a CNN Hero as part of the news network’s program to honor individuals who make extraordinary contributions to help others. On November 22, 2009, he was named CNN Hero of the Year for 2009.[/slider] who also spoke about youth empowerment.
I also recorded a short birthday message thanking all the people who helped me (plus those who gave me the opportunity from my family to business associates to clients).
This year, Create Your World
Setting up the foundation
For my fans and observers out there, you’ve been my inspiration and motivation to move on and explore possibilities from a book idea to international speaking.
Way back then, my mentor John Ayudtud, said several times that “The world is my university.” I really thought he was joking at the time until I realized that he’s dead serious about it. Until now, he’s doing some mentoring programs and I must thank him for guiding me as I take my baby steps.
Now, I realized that “the world has become my university.”
And my birthday treat for you? I didn’t have to think twice. I decided to give you a complimentary download of my latest book The Obvious: There’s No Secret to Success. Go here and get it now. Share this also with your friends, family, and associates.
I think we all create our own world—whether this world is good or bad. I’m convinced that God gave us the power and ability to create something to make this world a better place. I’m not talking about huge inventions or discoveries. I’m talking about small wonders and accomplishments that we do everyday whether we are public school teachers, government employee, or the president of the Philippines.
We live in a world which we created consciously or not. The sad side is that many people don’t even realized that they’ve just created a world that’s exactly the opposite of what they wanted. The worse part is they start accepting it as their “world” and get used to it. Now, they are trapped.
Let me tell you something about my world…
The World of Lloyd Luna
I’m a very simple and unassuming person. I aspire for more wisdom and less material position. I personally believe that people will love you not because of your Jaguar or a Mac but they will love you for being you as a person.
This happens usually when we are able to contribute something in their life.
And my treat for you? I didn’t have to think twice. I decided to give you a complimentary download of my latest book The Obvious: There’s No Secret to Success. Go here and get it now. Share this also with your friends, family, and associates.
In the last five years, I’ve been to major cities in the Philippines just doing speeches and book launching. I’ve done several projects with small businesses in the countryside and it’s a great feeling having worked with these geniuses.
But my world is only as good as what I’d like it to be—or what I’d like to believe it is.
When I decided to be a professional speaker, I told myself that should I make this as a career, I can’t just be here in the Philippines. I must do it also abroad.
Without the financial and social muscle to do that in 2005, I was left with no option but to go to the “gym of public speaking” where I would offer my speaking services for free or for a minimal fee of Php 1,000 to Php 3,000. Getting a framed certificate would make my world very happy.
Two years later, I flew to Seoul, South Korea, then to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In June and July, I’ll speak in Brunei and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
Without a doubt in my mind, I feel that I’m building the world of my dreams. Starting with nothing but a dream and a conviction that somewhere in the future it will come true, I was able to travel abroad and talk to foreign audience, yes, at this early age.
We’ve succeeded in conducting training and speaking engagements abroad with foreign audience!
Whenever I speak in foreign countries, I speak not as Lloyd Luna but as a Filipino. And you know what? They listen.
After I believe in my own ability shape my own dreams and build my own desirable world, I believed in the Filipino. I believe in our unique ability to communicate our thoughts in a very endearing manner. I think it’s built-in in every Filipino (although I must say that only a few decide to make an extra effort to develop it.) But we are unique and I think we have the power to influence others.
The Milestones
I’d like to be fair to myself by enlisting some milestones of our company.
- First, I was able to realize the dream of having my own television show (clap, clap, clap). It airs live every Friday at 1030AM on Global News Network Ch. 21.
- Second, I was able be a “certified” (I do the certification myself) international speaker having visited some countries for official business talks.
- Third, I was able to release my latest book, The Obvious: There’s No Secret to Success.
- Fourth, I was able to launch FilipinoSpeakers.com, which is my brainchild as an advocacy to promote the unique speaking ability of the Filipinos.
- Fifth, I was able to successfully rebrand LLOYDLUNA from blue to red; redefine what and who we are and which direction we would like to go; and do it with warm welcome from my clients and audience. They said, “red” is stronger and better. (Thanks to Genesis Millare and his wife Lovely.)
- Sixth, I was named as one of 25 SM Supermarket Brand Ambassadors, which by default made me a member of the SM Food Council. (Thanks to Gil Garcia of Entrepreneur Magazine for your help.)
On the side, I’ve closed some consultancy works on Internet marketing, spoken to bigger audience, partnered with events organizers, and many more.
I believe there are still some more that we can work on.
Create Your World
My birthday wish is for you to be able to create your own wonderful world—something that you’ve been longing to live in not something that other people want you have. I pray for your health and happiness. I pray for your dreams and desire.
Of course, I hope that God still gives me the strength and the wisdom to move on with my own life—regardless of what happens to my world every day. And I know He’s always there no matter what.
My 28th birthday is filled with even greater hope for more opportunities and venues where I can contribute my talent, and wisdom, and skills so other people may live a better life.
My treat for you?

This is one gentle way of thanking you for being there for me. You’ve been part of my journey. And I know you will always be.
