Yesterday, my good friend and business associate Genesis Millare, president of Ninja Starfish and founder of BrandHundred, called me up to know if I can spare some of my time (while still on vacation) to join him in a meeting with aspiring senator Neric Acosta. I said, well, I think I can do that.
At around 6:00 p.m., I got to UCC Cafe in Connecticut and I finally met the “Teacher Neric” (Liberal Party).
I was there not because I had a very concrete offer for him. I just wanted to get some feel about the guy. So for a while I just sat there and listen to their conversation. One thing that I do to feel the person is to listen by heart not by ear. When I was introduced, it was Ian Barcelona who became my referencing point.
Before the meeting was over, I showed him my books and he was so amazed how a 27-year-old like myself managed to write a book, publish it, and market it. He said he’s also writing.
I think aside from youth organizing for him, we will have a separate business. I’m looking at publishing his books in the future.
