Last night while on my bed, there’s something that was bothering. I gave in, got up, open my Mac, and register PersonalBrandingPhilippines.com.
Why is this important?
Well, five years ago, I didn’t have any idea about personal branding. While I know that I have some set of skills and God-given talents, not to mention several opportunities, I didn’t know what it takes to be someone. And then now, I realized that “personal brand” or “reputation” has something to do with it.
I was inspired primarily by Donald Trump during my startup years. Putting up a business with no prior experience on what it’s like, I was able to survive the first three crucial years. They say that every business that can weather this period has a great chance of making it big.
Well, God has been so kind and generous and loving. I think what they say is true about survival.
So what I intend to do now is to educate people—from high school students to young professionals to businessmen to entrepreneurs—to learn more about personal branding. Questions like “How do I brand myself?” will be answered as personal branding evolves.
I couldn’t imagine having myself branded without the Internet so I will do some blog entries about branding using Social media. This is a very important feature of the new website.
Aside from that, I will also analyze and comment on various successful personal brands first here in the Philippines and later in Asia.
I’m excited about this one. And I’m sure many researchers there will find this helpful.
Sir:
I am with the Personnel Dept of the Civil Service Commission. We are planning to conduct a two-hour session for our supervisors on this topic (Personal Branding) on July 20, 2011. May I know if we can possibly invite you to be our Resource Person? Is it ok if I already ask you how much do you charge for a two-hour session?
Thank you in advance for your positive response.
